Entertainment Weekly has another exclusive look at the upcoming Marvel film, Ant-Man. Directed by Peyton Reed, this latest comic adaption tells the story of theif Scott Lang seeking redemption and thanks to work and technology of Dr. Hank Pym. What is intriguing about this particular adaption is that the film embraces all of the varying personas of the Ant-Man from founding Avenger Hank Pym to Yellowjacket.
While I can't recall Yellowjacket ever being a villain (a douche maybe) he is the main antagonist in this film and the production design does make for a seriously sinister portrayal of the character.
There are also notable additions to the costume. Gone are his...shoulder collars? Seriously what were those things? How could he is what was coming from the left or right? Anyway, they were replaced with what the director describes as:
"Yellowjacket is armed with plasma cannons."
Plasma canons... cause that's what you want your villain to have.
Marvel's Ant-Man set to be released July 22nd.
