If there is one constant in Deadpool's life it's randomness. All of the things that happen to Deadpool in his life always lead to something. After saving the life of his friend S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Preston, killing a helicarrier full of terrorists, and then beating the snot out of Crossbones, Deadpool decides it's time for some much needed time off to relax. Of course, when you're Deadpool, there is no such thing as time off or relaxing. In typical Deadpool fashion, his much needed vacation was cut short.
First, Deadpool ends up saving a woman from a Latverian terrorist. After she runs away from him (he showed her his face), Deadpool gets approached by vampire. Deadpool does what every smart person would do when you're trying to sleep on a London bench and a vampire is creepily approaching you. You try and kill it. Deadpool fakes confusion and tracks the vampire down to its home and kills it. But this vampire was sent by Dracula himself to complete a very special mission. He needs Deadpool to get his bride and bring her to him. Seriously, this is something that could only happen to Deadpool.
This is by far one of Deadpool's most entertaining stories. It's not just the jokes that he makes this book fun, it's all of the shenanigans that he gets into along the way. For example, there's the trip to Greece where Deadpool busts out some animals from the zoo and uses a zebra to pull his carriage. On his way to back to Dracula with is wife's coffin in tow, Deadpool has to fight a Minotaur that used to be a statue. Why? WHO CARES! It's a Deadpool comic. Enjoy the randomness.
Beyond the silliness, there is also the story of Deadpool falling in love with Dracula's bride. A succubus named Shiklah. This isn't like Copycat or Siryn or some random woman that he likes. This is the first time I think that Deadpool actually had a real connection with someone. All of the other women he's loved or been infatuated with aren't the type of woman that actually understand Deadpool and the life he lives. Not just his killing, Shiklah understands his inner turmoil and loves him for it. And because she is a monster herself, she finds Deadpool handsome.
This is a thirteen issue story on digital download but only 7 issues if you grab the issues. The digital download is cool because it's a Marvel Infinite comic. Basicially it moves as you scroll and some scenes are almost like stop motion cartoons. It's a cool concept. On top of the great story, you get a lot of random Marvel characters. Blade, Dracula, The Red Hulk, Bob Agent of Hydra, Frankenstein's monster, Medusa, and whole lot more. Deadpool "The Gauntlet" is another great story to check out before the movie comes out February 12th.
Also, you get to see Deadpool fight Dracula. That alone is worth the price of a comic book.
