Supernatural has had their share of amazing and memorable reoccurring characters in the twelve seasons they have been on air. One character may stand high above the rest of them. God's most perfect angel and son Lucifer. He's dramatic (overly dramatic at times) smooth and absolutely hilarious (sometimes in a sick and depraved way). The midseason finale ended and while it may have looked like we've seen the last of Lucifer, we know that there is no way that will stick forever. I thought it would be a cool idea to take a look back at some of Lucifer's best moments. From his earliest, to his most recent.
Sam Says Yes
One of my favorite things in comics and television are alternate realities. They show the what if scenarios that we normally wouldn't get to see. We all knew that some way Sam and Dean were going to save the world from the apocalypse, but what if they didn't. What if Lucifer's plan worked? Well, we got a glimpse of it and it wasn't pretty. Castiel lost his angelic powers, the world overrun by zombie like creatures, and the world population decimated and destroyed. But nothing was as sad as seeing Lucifer in Sam's body in an all white suit. He looked angelic (duh, he's an angel), calm, and quite proud of the work he had accomplished.
Lucifer Kills Some Gods
Episode: Hammer Of The Gods
This was one of my favorite episodes. Some of the Pagan gods got together and captured the Winchesters. The plan was to use them as bargaining chips in the upcoming apocalypse. Too bad Mercury told Lucifer of their plans. Lucifer shows up and kills a handful of the pagan gods. This was the moment when you realize how power Lucifer really is. Not even gods can stand up to his power. Even in his vessel that is slowly deteriorating.
HEY, @$$ Butt
Episode: Swan Song
It was time for the final battle; Lucifer VS Michael. But not before Dean got one more chance to save his brother. All her wanted was five minutes to talk to him and hopefully reach Sam even though Lucifer was in control. Thankfully Castiel was there to give Dean the five minutes he needed. Unfortunately, Lucifer doesn't like people interfering and with the snap of his fingers, Lucifer destroys Castiel. Apparently Molotov with holy fire is a no no.
And Then What?
Episode: The Devil in the Details
Sam is in the cage with Lucifer and he trying to talk Lucifer into finding out the key fight the Darkness. Shockingly enough, the only way Lucifer was going to help was if he was released from the cage. Sam, obviously skeptical, asked Lucifer what he would do after he defeats the Darkness. Lucifer had a hilarious response. He said, "I move to L.A., solve crimes" which is what is a plot to the Fox show Lucifer.
Castiel Is Lucifer
Episode: Devil in the Details
It appeared to everyone else that Lucifer was gone and that the Winchester's won the day. In actuality, Lucifer and Castiel made a deal before Lucifer could be sent away. Lucifer promised Castiel that he could destroy the Darkness. In return, Castiel would let him use his vessel until the Darkness was destroyed. This started a ton of shenanigans. Also, Misha Collins did a MASTERFUL job as Lucifer. His facial expressions were a work of art. For example...
Walk In The Park
Episode: Into the Mystic
One of the first things Lucifer did was walk around Earth freely without the worry of being attacked. Well, so he thought. Apparently Heaven wasn't too keen about their brother no longer being in the cage and out doing whatever he wanted. An angel thought it would be a good idea to try and get the drop on Lucifer and kill him. With a snap of his fingers , Lucifer showed this red shirt angel why this was very foolish move. Lucifer sure does love his finger snap kills.
Good Doggie, Crowley
Episode: The Vessel
Crowley thought he was free of being Lucifer's b**** and he was wrong on a couple of levels. First, when Lucifer regained his rightful seat as the King of Hell, Crowley obviously would lose that title. Second, Crowley had a debt to pay for betraying Lucifer and not setting him free when he was in the cage. Once Lucifer regained the throne, he literally made Crowley his bitch. As in he made him act like his pet female doggie.
Episode: The Vessel
Lucifer was doing a great job of keeping who he was hidden from the Winchesters. Acting like Castiel and also holding back his rage when all he wanted to do was smite the Winchesters for being...well, themselves. Eventually Sam found out and Lucifer put a whooping on him. But the best part was when he revealed himself to Dean. The sarcastic look of "Oops" when he was probably more relieved that he didn't have to put on the charade any longer.
A Talk With The Angels
Episode: The Vessel
Lucifer makes his play to get back into Heaven and to also get back in his good graces with his brother and sister angels. The angels bring up how God, their father, cast him from Heaven. Lucifer gives his best pitch on why God's words about him were wrong HE should be the man in charge after he does away with the Darkness. Misha's best work was in this scene.
Father And Son
Episode: We The Happy Few
God finally decided to show his face and Lucifer was not happy about his dad showing up. Fathers and sons are known to have issues, but not like this. I mean, God did cast him out of Heaven and miss all of his birthdays. What made this scene and episode so special was watching Lucifer act like an angry child. Playing his music loud to annoy his father(God) and watching him try to kill Sam and Dean (snap of the finger. Go figure), but God took those powers away from him. In defense of the devil, an apology isn't too much to ask for.
When Lucifer first came to Earth, his vessel was just a guy. He was just biding his time until he could jump into Sam Winchester (which was his appropriate vessel). Then he jumped into an aged rock star. An upgrade, no doubt, but not like his next vessel. Lucifer became President of the United States of America. Seriously, if you're gonna be anyone in your pursuit of evil and control of the world that's who you want to be.
